Wherever You Are, FC Is Right By Your Side... Literally!

If you’re anything like me, you thrive in your fitness journey the most when you attend group classes. Not only is the energy of the room addicting but when the workout is already created and an instructor is telling you what to do, there’s something about following the leader that allows me to just be in the moment, focus on the task at hand and not think about what’s next. Now don’t get me wrong, I love a good solo gym session but classes are where it’s at for this lady right here. You with me? Bumpin’ music, the excitement in the instructor’s voice and their motivational words keeps me going and before I know it, I’ve just crushed it for 45 minutes.

Now when it comes to traveling, unfortunately you can’t pack up your favorite instructor. We all have those trips where our health takes a back burner because the gym doesn’t motivate us or the hotel doesn’t provide group classes. A bummer if they don’t, I know, but that’s where FightCamp comes in. An app that provides a group boxing workout in the comfort of your hotel room or the gym downstairs? Umm, yes please. It’s on your phone, friends. You can’t get more mobile than that. Whether there’s a heavy bag at your convenience or you’re shadow boxing in the corner where the small kitchen table once was (because you moved it, of course) this app goes with you no matter what your workout space looks like.

Recently I took a 10-day road trip across the country from Los Angeles to Michigan. Besides seeing everything I possibly could in Houston, New Orleans and Nashville, I knew the biggest challenge would be staying on top of my health and getting a workout in. There were times when I stayed in an AirBnB with no workout room and thanks to FC I had nothing to worry about. With the FightCamp app, it didn’t matter where I was as long as I had a little bit of floor space, my punch trackers and a spot to set my phone up. Space was no issue and neither was time. Some days were crammed with scheduled tours, family dinners or a 10-hour drive to the next state and with the large selection of 15-minute workouts, they fit right in to my day. The days where I had more time, I bumped it up and joined Aaron or P.J. for a 45-minute sweat sesh. Thanks fellas!

Not only was FightCamp convenient for my road trip, it set the standard for my travels. When I take the time to get a workout in, I’m more likely to eat healthy and stay on track. Of course, a little indulging here and there happens but not as much if I skipped the bag. Who wants to cancel out all that hard work? I know I don’t and being conscious of how I eat and getting a workout in every day keeps me accountable for the remainder of my day. So many times we set a goal to look and feel a certain way before we bust out the bikini or swim shorts for the pool. Once we’re there, we eat and drink whatever we want. We get back from an amazing experience, work hard to catch up on what we missed and forget about our health until the next vacation is planned. Why mess with all that yo-yo’ing when you can continue to stay healthy and not miss a beat?

In my experience with FightCamp while traveling, here are a few recommendations to keep in mind.

  1. Pack Your Trackers and Gloves - Data doesn’t lie and neither will those beads of sweat on your forehead. Keeping track of your progress will motivate you to go faster and harder. Even if you don’t have a heavy bag at the time, the weight of your gloves act like weights when shadow boxing and keeps the upper body toned.
  2. Schedule Your Workouts - Typically when traveling, we tend to jam pack our days and time goes quicker than we realized so set a reminder of when you want to workout. I recommend first thing in the morning. Start off strong and healthy to set the tone for an even stronger and healthier day ahead.
  3. Mix It Up - Take a different class every day to target all areas of your body. There’s a wide variety on the app so take advantage of it and keep your body composition balanced.

I know I said you can’t pack up your favorite instructor and take them on vacation with you but as you can see, that’s not always the case. Whether you have a favorite or you’re like me and mix it up to get the full benefit of FightCamp, they’re right there with you the entire time. On a getaway to the tropics? Road tripping along the coast? Hitting the countryside? No excuse not to get a workout in with the convenience of an app and coaches who push you to limits you didn’t even know you had. Ok so maybe you did know but either way, they’ll push you to give it your all. So, on your next trip, don’t leave without FightCamp. You won’t be sorry.
