Are you tired of the same old jab - cross (1-2) punch and kick combinations that can make daily kickboxing routines feel mundane? Have you mastered the basic and intermediate strikes, and are wanting a more challenging routine? Then get ready because FightCamp Trainer Aaron Swenson has put together three (3) advanced kickboxing combos that are going to not only challenge your kickboxing skills, but your mental game as well.

In order to get the most of these combos, be sure to properly warm up using a dynamic warm-up to prime your body for this workout. Incorporate these advanced striking combos into your current training routine. Then, once you get all three striking combos down, string them together for a complete physical and mental workout, and the ultimate 16 move combo!

Advanced Kickboxing Combos Workout (Orthodox Stance Strikes)

Combination One

Kickboxing Combination 1

Jab - Cross - Lead Hook - Slip Left - Lead Hook (Body) - Rear Low Kick
| 1 - 2 - 3 - Slip L - 3B - R Low Kick

  • Start in an Orthodox stance

  • Throw a jab, followed by a quick cross, and a lead hook

  • Slip forward to the left, and throw a lead hook to the body

  • Finish off the combo with a rear low kick

Combination Two

Kickboxing Combination 2

Front Kick - Step - Cross - Lead Hook - Rear Elbow - Lead Hook - Rear Kick | F Kick - Step - 2 - 3 - R Elbow - 3 - R Kick

  • Start in an Orthodox stance

  • Begin with a lead front kick, followed by a floating step

  • Then from the inside, perform a quick cross, and a lead hook

  • Strike with a rear elbow followed with a quick lead hook, and finish off the combo with a rear kick

Combination Three

Kickboxing Combination 3

Jab - Switch Kick - Cross - Lead Hook - Hop Kick | 1 - S Kick - 2 - 3 - Hop Kick

  • Start in an Orthodox stance

  • Throw a jab, followed by a quick switch-kick to the liver

  • Follow up with a cross and lead hook

  • Finish off the combo with a hop kick

    • A Hop kick is slightly different from a traditional round kick. The objective of a hop kick is to lead with the rear foot in order to build momentum as you step across the bag

There you have it--Aaron’s three advanced kickboxing combos that will elevate your kickboxing striking game and take you to the next level. The objective is to learn each of the striking techniques first before trying to combine them all together in the complex sequences above. As you get better at each kickboxing combo, focus on minimizing wasted movements such as added steps in between strikes; as soon as your foot hits, your punch hits.

Ready for the final challenge? Once you feel confident, you can string them together and become a combination striking master like Aaron. It’s the ultimate game of memory striking--a 16 strike kickboxing combo!
